TNT Knows Re-Watch

Is there any better feeing than being up late at night and bored, (wait, that is not the feeling I am getting at.) while having another bout with my buddy insomnia? (Still not the feeling) Then, suddenly stumbling upon one of TNT’s stable of recurring cable flicks? (Mmmm, there it is.) You know those movies. You may have seen in the theaters. Maybe you weren’t that impressed on first viewing. But for some reason, the rewatchability on cable is awesome.

TNT has such a knack for finding the perfect film for any time of day. While scanning the guide in the endless sea of crap that is on all 500 channels I get, I always seem to keep on eye on whatever they’re playing. That moment usually turns into the remainder of the movie. Yet, I always feel engaged and enjoy it each time. Such works of art like: The Replacements, A Few Good Men, The Negotiator, He Got Game, Bad Boys, Heat, The Matrix. (Those were just off this weekend’s schedule!)

You start to know these characters as friends. Every re-watch is just old pals reminiscing over some good times. Shane Falco, I love that guy. His explanation of quick sand is that of genius. Lt. Caffey, he is greatness. What else can you call a smug punk with brass balls? Jesus Shuttlesworth always brings his A game. (And is still dropping buckets today. BEAT LA!)

It is basic cable’s version of: homemade apple pie, your blankey, hot cocoa, or anal sex. Whatever your comfort zone is, TNT hits the spot. Not to mention those commercials. Who doesn’t stop everything when a 30 second spot for The Closer comes on? I know I’d stab someone to see Kyra Sedgwick doing her thing. I mean, she is tough as nails. Why else would she be the closer??? Advantage, Bacon

TNT, not only do you know drama, but you also know the way to this man’s heart. (I haven’t even brought up their titillating new show Rizzoli & Isles). So make sure to maintain this level of excellence in the future as well. Don’t become the next USA Network. (Seriously.) To quote my friend Frank, “Keep on…keep on trucking.”
