Hidden Reels of the Decade
As the final weeks of the year draw towards New Years 2010, most movie critics are compiling their lists for ‘best/worst of the decade’. The aughts (00-09) have been somewhat underwhelming in the movie realm, compared to the 90’s which had anywhere from 10-15 movies that could be described as the movie that most defines the decade. It seems as though television shows have been passed the torch and now are the touchstone for dramatic and comedic masterpieces.
Nevertheless, I thought that I would provide a different take on the end of the first decade of the 21st century. I have made my own lists (top 11 for each - big deal, I went one over the norm, what’s it to you?!) for most under-the-radar flicks of the past ten years. That does not mean that these are all art-house projects, but movies that may have never gotten their due at wide release or on DVD. I am sure you have seen some of these films, several you may of heard of, and others will be completely foreign to you.
Regardless, I give a bJ reccomendation to them all. So rent the DVDs, get a quart of your favorite Häagen-Dazs (we know it’s cookie dough, fat ass) and prepare yourself to sink into your couch for hours of enjoyable viewing. GET ON IT!!!
